Silkmoths

Now that my latest macro publication is completed, and available now in paperback in the UK. I’m catching up with other projects in between my routine photography commitments. One of my immediate priorities is to continue with compiling the material for a publication on the Wild Silkmoths of the World. Moths have always been close to my heart, but saturniids have been a passion of mine for many years. I waited a long time to get the opportunity to photograph Actias isis. It’s an incredibly beautiful moth with 11cm tails. It is challenging species to photograph as it is by nature an extremely nervous moth; the tails fracture so easily. Below are a few more recent images of these beautiful insects.
