Finally, the new quick reference guide to Ireland’s Dragonflies and Damselflies is being printed at the moment. The guide is aimed at naturalists and photographers and will be a useful aid for identification in the field. It also includes the immature phase of various species and the different female forms. It covers all of the species that have been recorded in Ireland since 1980 including their flight periods and general distribution. There is also a list of public access sites, which provide opportunities for anyone wishing to see the complete range of Irish species.
I have included a couple of sample pages from the identification section. Copies should be available sometime in late February. I will post information and details of where copies can be obtained in the next couple of weeks!
