Brackagh National Nature Reserve

I headed out very early this morning with the intention of shooting some spring flowers. However, the wind was exceptionally strong considering the forecast was indicating only a light breeze. The main part of the reserve is extremely exposed which did not help matters. I had to abandon my plans after a short while. The sun by this time was exceptionally strong and breeze relentless – time to go home and do something more useful! I did manage to grab a few images – nothing too exciting, but something for my efforts. Unfortunately, you get days like this where you have to cut your losses and try another day!

When the wind is strong, it is always difficult to pick out potential subjects since they are always moving about. Things at the reserve are still a bit on the early side so pickings were lean. The reserve has wonderful stands of Bog Bean, which was one of my target species this morning. The combination of the strong sunlight and the relentless wind put an end to any chance of doing it justice!
